I want this to be our Christmas card this year, but I don’t think my wife will go for it.

OK, I want to know what inspired this one?

Would you believe I started drawing his stretched out nostril and it just kind of went on its own from there?

  3. Jennifer Says:

I think the hamster is just trying to get at the piece of cheese he put up there a few weeks ago. Might explain the halitosis too.

  4. Cameron Says:

I love how Tom looks so resigned to the reality of a gerbil in his nostril.

  5. Steve Lindsey Says:

I’m not so sure, with that thousand-yard-stare, that ol’ Tommy-boy realizes he has a rodent rammed up is nose. I guess ignorance is bliss?! Or a snotty hamster!

  6. Cameron Says:

Did I say gerbil? My sincerest apologies to all members of the hamster community.

I love that Tom seems unfazed and the hamster, only slightly uncomfortable. Could this perhaps be a misunderstood, mutual arrangement?

    It’s definitely hilarious!

  8. Cameron Says:

I agree, Sketched. After looking a bit more closely, I almost sense an air of reproach–as if Tom means to communicate, “Yeah, so I have a hamster up my nose. Deal with it.”

  9. jaggedsmile Says:

It’s just that, after the first dozen or so, Tom lapsed into a sort of nihilistic trance. The only thing that would have snapped him out of it was if one of the hamsters had strayed from the set pattern and, say, assaulted the RIGHT nostril instead.

Do you think that maybe the hamster is liking its chops hoping that you would sneeze?
