I think the hamster is just trying to get at the piece of cheese he put up there a few weeks ago. Might explain the halitosis too.

I’m not so sure, with that thousand-yard-stare, that ol’ Tommy-boy realizes he has a rodent rammed up is nose. I guess ignorance is bliss?! Or a snotty hamster!

I love that Tom seems unfazed and the hamster, only slightly uncomfortable. Could this perhaps be a misunderstood, mutual arrangement?

I agree, Sketched. After looking a bit more closely, I almost sense an air of reproach–as if Tom means to communicate, “Yeah, so I have a hamster up my nose. Deal with it.”

It’s just that, after the first dozen or so, Tom lapsed into a sort of nihilistic trance. The only thing that would have snapped him out of it was if one of the hamsters had strayed from the set pattern and, say, assaulted the RIGHT nostril instead.
