I got an email the other day that had the phrase “rule of thumb” in it (the origin of which has absolutely NOTHING to do with spousal abuse, by the way), so I- being the impulsive little doodler that I am- had to draw it, of course.

I’m teaching a class of designer students about Jakob Nielsen’s 10 heuristics of usability, and the definition of heuristics includes “rule of thumb.” Love your illustration, and my students will appreciate it. May I include it in my powerpoint?
