MEETING DOODLES: Seerusly?

September 15, 2016

I’m especially liking the little dark creatures at the bottom center of the second doodle page. They just look so confused about where they are.

MEETING DOODLE: Work with what you have, and no throwing sardines!

Sorry for the garish paper color, but ya gotta work with what you’re given. Like this penguin, for instance. He wanted me to draw him on a jet ski, but I told him we were fresh out of those and could only put him on a skateboard. I informed him we would have a shipment of jet skis coming in next month, but he was all in a hurry to get doodled so he had to settle for a skateboard. You could tell he wanted to complain about it, but he kept his cool and took it like a man.

Er… I mean, penguin.

At least, that’s how I assume it would look if you “took it like a penguin”. I could be way off base. Taking it like a penguin may actually involve temper tantrums and the hurling of sardines at the source of your disgruntlement. If that’s the case, then he didn’t take it like a penguin, but, in fact, took it like some much calmer bird that is not known for diva-like behavior.

Sometimes there is no meeting.

Sometimes, you just gotta flush your brain of random doodles before you can get to the real work of the day.

FRAGMENT: Gyyyyyrrooooshcope!

January 14, 2013

FRAGMENT-gyyyyyroshcopeEarly on in this blog (almost five years ago, actually), I mentioned my love for the tantalizing fragments of comic books I sometimes encountered as a child. Since that post, and due to the blessing of having a full-time job that keeps me too busy to do more than fragments, I have often found it entertaining to create individual panels or pages that are intentionally teasing but nebulous in their nature and direction, just for the fun little rabbit trails they lead me down.

The above panel being a case in point.

Who is this mysterious “he” who donated the piece of technology?  And what is the problem plaguing our heroes? And why will a gyroscopic device help? And do we really want to put our trust in a pig-like being who has no idea what a gyroscope even is???

Your guess is as good as mine.
